Port companies offer full spectrum of port and cargo transportation services Two ship repair factories provide shipbuilding and rebuilding services. Thanks to geographical location and offered port benefits in the Liepaja Special Economic Zone, several companies have chosen Liepaja SEZ to develop their activities there. The management of the Liepaja SEZ is ruled by the Liepaja Special Economic Zone Authority, which has taken over the administrative functions and obligations of Liepaja SEZ since founding of SEZ in 1997. Liepaja SEZ Authority is a governing body established by the state and municipality, with a special budget and is registered as a taxpayer.
The volume of handled cargo at the Liepaja SEZ in 2023 was 7.2 million tons of freight.
